Gataichi Cooperative is located in Tetu district in Nyeri District. 160 km north of Nairobi, the processing station is located between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare mountain range — a very advantageous location for coffee production.
Gataiti farms have two harvest seasons: a late harvest starting in late September to mid-January yields 70%, and an early harvest starting from April to July yields 30% of total annual production. These are varieties: SL28 and SL34 (95%), ruiru-11 (4%) and Batian (1%).
Gataichi Cooperative owns only one processing station. Currently, the cooperative has 1,656 active members.
